Protrain was one of the founding members of ARKS and the first company to offer professional driver training for kart drivers in this country.  Protrain Karting Courses were first run in 1982, teaching kart drivers how to improve their driving techniques and kart set-up. The intensive training days have developed with time and experience and are now segmented into various areas so that they precisely match a driver’s requirements.

Karting Courses

Protrain’s Karting Courses cater for total beginners and indoor karters through to International kart racing drivers.  The days coach kart drivers on kart driving techniques up to the level required for the ARKS Test, the standard to gain an Motorsport UK kart racing licence.  Our ARKS Test days include vast amounts of coaching to take drivers through the ARKS Test successfully.

For experienced drivers Protrain offer a range of Techniques Courses teaching race craft, kart set-up and performance enhancements. The training days are run every week on a one to one or small group basis using British and European Kart Championship winning driving instructors and coaches.

Protrain mainly holds its training days at the Whilton Mill circuit near Northampton every Wednesday.  A range of two-stroke and Honda racing karts is used from 60cc and Honda Cadets through various classes to 125cc Rotax Max and X30 karts.  Protrain is a Motorsports UK recognised kart school and has been deeply involved with the development and operation of the Association of Racing Kart Schools training scheme since its formation.

Racing 

Protrain has run a British and European Championship winning kart racing team that offers race hire and management for drivers who wish to advance into racing and require the best equipment backed up by professional race guidance, coaching and set-up.  The team visits many club meetings each month.  Protrain is heavily involved with the sale of kart equipment and can supply you with your first kart outfit.
